A highlight of the 2000 Iowa Venture Awards Program, sponsored by the Iowa Area Development Group, was the selection of Rosenboom Machine & Tool, Spirit Lake, Iowa as the Outstanding Business of the year.

The awards were presented at a luncheon held in Des Moines, Iowa November 30th.

The Award, now in its 13th year, is presented to businesses and industries which have made significant contributions to the diversification of Iowa's resources and economic base through leadership, investment, expansion and the creation of job opportunities.

For Rosenboom, the project that attracted the attention of the judges was the ninth expansion in 24 years, according to Larry Rosenboom. The expansion is a 256,000-square-foot facility in a new industrial park in Spirit Lake. "We must thank Northwest Iowa Community College for adding needed programs," Rosenboom said after accepting the award.
