Job Description

General Summary:

The daily buyer for both Sheldon and Spirit Lake tool cribs. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily spot buys of items needed by internal departments, maintenance of tools, communicating with management regarding the equipment needs and training, reviewing tooling needs for each job or process. Work with vendors and Rosenboom employees in setting up and executing point of use cabinets throughout the plant.

Primary job responsibilities:

Analyzes information and recommends measures to improve product quality, production methods, equipment performance, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase department and/or shop efficiency

Reviews blueprints and job sheets to help identify tooling needs

Works with engineers, supervisors and set-up personnel to be ensure that the necessary tooling is available when needed

Generates purchase orders for consumables including, but not limited to, drills, inserts, oil, welding supplies, test fittings, cutting tools, hand tools, spill containment, ladders, safety equipment, paint equipment, packaging supplies, office supplies, etc. using a pre-determined approved list of vendors and suppliers.

Stores consumables, stages them for use, and helps determine and set up point of use locations Repairs or replaces tools, as necessary and appropriate

Reconciles invoices to ensure accurate accounting

Works with all employees regarding tooling needs specific to their assigned responsibilities

Processes order requests in an efficient manner

Works with appropriate supervisory/management personnel to provide training to department personnel as appropriate and necessary

Represents Rosenboom honestly and professionally in all contacts with vendors, customers and employees.

Communicates, orally and in writing, with vendors and customers

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Is a productive member of his/her department and adheres to all Rosenboom policies, including safety requirements/procedures, in order to ensure a safe working environment for all Rosenboom employees
